Big enough to notice. Light enough to wear.

Statement jewelry usually comes with a trade-off: the bigger the piece, the heavier it feels. Tagua is different. It's substantial enough to make a statement, but light enough to wear all day. You might forget you have it on. Everyone else won't.

This season runs warm, with burgundy, forest green, café con leche and onyx alongside the bright colors you know us for.

All the impact, none of the ache

A necklace people notice from across the room, and earrings that don't pull by dinner.

No two are the same

Tagua has its own grain and takes color differently every time. The piece that arrives is yours alone.

Made by hand in Ecuador

Each piece is carved, dyed and assembled by hand.

Golden GrassFrom Brazil

Nature’s golden, sparkly jewelry.

Golden grass grows in Brazil's Jalapão region. It's gathered by hand while still supple, then woven strand by strand. Nothing is plated and nothing is added; the shine is the plant's own. Soraya discovered the material in Brazil and brought its traditional craftsmanship into the Tagua collection.

The material

Capim dourado from the Jalapão. The color is the plant's own.

The weight

Woven grass, not metal. You'll forget you have it on.

The hands

Gathered and woven by Brazilian artisans, using methods passed down for generations.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

Tagua is light for its size. A large tagua earring weighs much less than a metal or stone earring of the same size, so you can wear it all day.
Every piece is shown worn, and every product page lists length, drop and weight. Return eligible items within 15 days if it isn't right.
Yes. Add a gift box at checkout, [$5 for earrings and bracelets and $6 for necklaces]. It arrives ready to give.
Yes. Return eligible items within 15 days of delivery for a refund to your original payment method. Items need to come back in their original packaging, and return shipping is paid by you. Clearance pieces are final sale.

Tagua is the nut of a palm that grows in South American rainforests. Once carved and polished it's often called "vegetable ivory." It feels smooth and substantial, and nothing about it is synthetic. Every piece we make starts as one of these nuts.
Most bold jewelry is mass-produced from metal or resin. Ours is carved by hand from a natural material, so no two pieces are exactly alike.
Tagua is a plant, so no animal is harmed to make it. Every piece is handmade by artisans in Ecuador. [Add dye and wage claims only after they're verified; see the last section.]
